MotoGP game covering the 2008 motorcycle racing season. You’ll race across the world in a variety of tracks and game modes. We’ve put a lot of effort into making the game really easy to pick up and play if you don’t typically play racing simulations, while maintaining the features and depth that the hardcore fans demand. More on this in a future blog – today I want to run through the primary game modes MotoGP offers.
Career mode is all new for Capcom’s MotoGP series -- here’s where you make your own rider and compete against the best. On your first season (of five), only a couple of 125 racing teams are interested in you as you’re largely an unknown player. As you race well, more teams become interested in you, and eventually you’ll race in the prestigious (and fast!) MotoGP league. You’ll also earn new helmets and be able to upgrade your bike. When you play multiplayer, you’ll even be able to race with your upgraded bike!
If you’d prefer to play the 2008 season as your favorite real rider, then Championship mode is for you. Here you race as one of racing’s greatest riders as you compete through the 2008 season with all the riders, bikes, teams and circuits from this season.
Challenge mode provides you with a variety of scenarios to challenge and develop your racing skills. Everything from straight-up timed gates to staying on the racing line to only using a set amount of brake and beating the lap time. Lots to check out here, and each challenge gives you a reward for completing it.
Quick race allows you to play a single track of your choosing. Also, timed races where you set the best racing times and ride against ghost riders. And 12 player multiplayer racing where you can race any of the tracks against your friends – plus post your best lap times on leaderboards to see how good you are against everyone else.
